Antique Stone

19th Century Granite Millstone

In our pursuit of vintage artifacts we occasionally come across one that is truly a “10”. This is one such stone. New Hampshire origin. The stone had been displayed in a vertical position, hence the shadow line which will dissipate over time. It retains its highly desirable pinwheel pattern which is very distinct. This particular stone is called a “runner” as it was the one that actually turned against the opposing stone to create the grist. The highly carved key way also retains the hand forged iron drive mechanism. The outer circumference also has the two classic lift points/holes. Measures 22” thick x 48” diameter. The bottom, as positioned, which is actually the top of the stone in convex. An absolutely PERFECT example which are becoming near impossible to source.
