“Dog Head” Decorative Creation

A few years ago while dismantling an 18th century building this stone was extracted from the foundation wall. It struck me as a dog head shape and I finally added my whimsical additions : two smooth rocks to create the eye and nose, and an errant fieldstone to emulate an ear. Careful diamond blade grinding made the mouth and eyebrow. Added some defining paint and, well, here it is. This is large, measuring 7’H. The head is 32” wide, the body is 20” wide and it averages 11” thick overall. If you love dogs and have a sense of whimsy then this is for you.
